SCIENTIST KATEY WALTER ANTHONY ON HER TRUE DISCOVERY AS AN ARCTIC EXPLORER
Katey Walter Anthony. To begin, she is a scientist exploring the Arctic as well as methane emissions researcher. Secondly. She was featured on National Geographic. Above all. This will be one of the most vulnerable scientists you’ll ever hear on a podcast.
What inspired you to become a scientist?
Even as I started to grow scientifically, I was having successes that I would’ve dreamed about as a young person… none of those filled something in my heart and it was this desire to really truly be lovedKatey Walter Anthony
I would say the world was against me having faith, my own father was against me having faith, I didn’t know what was right or true, and I got tired of that
Gold told me that He loved me in a way that I understood I’d never known that before and that really filled up a hole in my life that gave me pace
Becoming self-centered or egotistical
As a scientist I don’t want to only try and discover things that I know are gonna feed people’s fears and follow certain political agenda, I want to understand really how the whole system works; I think we owe that to people in the world if we are gonna do science, it’s to pursue the truth
What would you say is the most imminent threat to methane gases bursting out in lakes in the arctic in our planet?
I think slowing down, simplifying and using less resources and taking time to care for people and any of the resources that you have (to make) decisions about could go a long way
We can stop thinking about ourselves and instead give and enable the things around us to grow and be beautifulKatey Walter Anthony
