Hey family, it's Beto and Mili here—your hosts from **Christian Podcast™**! Wow, what a year 2025 has been. As we're wrapping up these last few days, we're overflowing with gratitude and excitement. If you've caught our recent episode with Amy Cardiff and her son Riley, you know we dove deep into vision, faith, and how God moves when we seek Him for the year ahead. That conversation stirred up so many memories for us, and we wanted to share the full story here on the blog. Buckle up—this one's packed with miracles, tears, laughter, and straight-up God moments.
The Spark: Vision Event and Our Words for 2025
It all started last December at Amy Cardiff's **Vision Event**. If you haven't been, it's a game-changer—a morning filled with inspiring speakers, prayer, Scripture, and crafting vision boards that align your dreams with God's purpose. Amy's events are biblical at the core (hello, Proverbs 29:18: "Where there is no vision, the people perish"), but super practical too. You pray, pick a word for the year, attach verses, and visualize what God might have in store.
We showed up hungry for direction. Mili felt the Lord give her **stability**—that rock-solid peace no matter the storms. Mine? **Radical**. Haha, yeah—**radical stability** became our theme! Little did we know how God would weave those words through every challenge and blessing.
Radical Start: The 21-Day Fast That Shook Everything
January hit, and Mili (our fasting queen) led the charge into a **21-day water fast**. I'd only done three days before—seven felt radical enough! But as the days approached and we prayed, God whispered to me, "Wasn't your word radical?" So, 21 days it was. Just water (sometimes with cayenne and lime for that "meal" kick—haha).
Day 3? I fainted. Thought, "Nope, this is it—I'm done." But God sustained us every step. Mental clarity sharpened, prayers deepened, and breakthroughs started exploding. Toward the end of the fast, a random guest reached out—he wanted to book our old studio remotely just to talk about fasting. He was a doctor sharing all the biblical and health benefits. Perfect timing from God!
Then, on day 21—the exact day we finished—one of our YouTube videos went viral overnight. Subscribers jumped from hundreds to thousands. Natural growth, no ads—pure God moving.
Mili's takeaway through it all? Thanksgiving is the **key to stability**. No matter how empty the fridge looked or how tight the bank account felt, gratitude unlocked wholeness. We've lived it—daily miracles of provision, joy in simplicity. There were days when the pantry was basically bare, yet God would nudge us to take food to our neighbors. We'd obey, even when it didn't make sense... and the next day? Gift cards, unexpected groceries, or blessings would show up. Obedience really does open the heavens!
The Ultimate Radical Test: Mount Whitney Miracle
Fast-forward to summer. I'd just hit my 20-year anniversary in America—such a huge milestone! Growing up in Mexico, my dad used to take me to mountains that felt like holy ground (Nevado de Colima—it's still my go-to peace place in my mind). I craved something epic to mark this new chapter here in the States.
Then a friend from my men's group called: "Hey, I scored permits for Mount Whitney—the highest peak in the continental US (14,505 ft.)!" I didn't hesitate: "Sign me and the boys up!" I hadn't hiked seriously in years, hadn't even run since 2016, but this felt like the radical move of the year.
We started training on smaller mountains, but my knee took a beating—IT band agony that left me limping down every practice hike, barely able to walk some days. I invested in knee braces, hiking poles, layers—everything the pros recommended. Still, the pain was brutal, but the permits were locked in: a one-day push, starting at 1 a.m., aiming to summit by noon.
The night before, we did a cold plunge in the river for prep, and we gathered as a family to pray—"Lord, please heal Dad's knee." We hit the trail in the dark, geared up with crampons and ice axes (I learned the hard way those poles aren't just for "woosies"!).
Pain kicked in by mile 1. I radioed the group: "You guys go ahead—I'll pace slower with the boys." Joseph (our oldest) pushed on with the faster crew, but I stayed back with Dorian (13 at the time).
We reached the mountaineering route—a steep, icy snow wall. As I helped Dorian strap on his gear, he started getting scared, freezing up on the ice steps. I was wrestling inside: "Do we turn back? But the summit... my 20 years... this radical goal..."
That's when Dorian looked up and said, "Dad, what keeps me going is looking back—seeing how far we've come." Wow. My kid was preaching truth right there on the mountain!
I dropped to my knees in the snow to pray, asking Dorian what he wanted to do. In that exact moment of surrender... **click**. I felt it inside—something shifted. The pain vanished instantly. Completely healed. Right there on the mountain. I looked at Dorian wide-eyed: "God just healed my knee!" No doubt about it—it was Him. The pain never came back, not even once.
With fresh grace, we veered onto the rocks for a safer scramble (wild, exposed climbing—no ropes needed, but intense!). We rested, ate, talked, bonded—just father and son against the elements. Altitude sickness started hitting Dorian hard—slow, labored steps—but we kept encouraging each other.
We didn't quite reach the summit (turned around about 1.5 miles short after linking up with the group—they wisely advised it was enough). On the descent, Dorian broke down crying, apologizing: "Dad, I'm so sorry I slowed you down—I know the summit meant everything for your 20 years..." My heart shattered and overflowed at the same time. I hugged him tight: "Dorian, this was the best day of my life. It's not about the destination—it's the journey together and looking back at how faithful God has been."
In that hug, revelation flooded me like the sunrise over those peaks: All these 20 years—the financial battles, immigration struggles, ups and downs in every area—none of it was wasted. God was preparing us, building something deeper for His kingdom.
We came down pain-free after a full 15 hours on the mountain. No complaints, no limping—even with some epic (and slightly dangerous) snow sledding on the way! The miracle was undeniable.
The Fruit: How the Mountain Led Straight to Studio Breakthrough
When we finally got back home from the trip and life started settling again, the revelation from the mountain wouldn't let go. I knew God was saying, "Pursue this podcast and studio ministry fully—this is the path I've had you on all these years."
First thing, I sat down with my pastor, **Pastor Mike Decker** at **Palm Harvest Church**—he's been my pastor for the last 10 years, the one who's walked with us through everything, including the immigration process. I still work for Palm Harvest, and he's the spiritual father who's poured into us the most. I shared the whole testimony with him—the fast, the viral growth, the instant knee healing on Whitney, and especially the revelation about looking back at God's faithfulness over 20 years.
We prayed together, and he looked at me with that encouraging smile and said, "Beto, you have my full blessing—go for it." That meant the world, coming from him.
Early in January 2025, **Pastor Justin Chandler** from **Harbor Trinity Church** had come as a guest on our podcast. During that visit, he casually mentioned, "If you ever need a room, let me know." That offhand comment stayed with us.
So, after the mountain experience and receiving Pastor Mike's blessing, Mili and I decided to follow up on Justin's offer. We reached out and went over to Harbor Trinity to talk more about it. That's when he gave us a full tour of the facility, showing us the available rooms. As we walked through and prayed about it, he offered us the perfect space—the one that's now double the size of our previous setup, with room for better lighting, more cameras, the whole upgrade. Doors didn't just open—they flew wide!
From that moment on, everything accelerated. Podcasters started reaching out and booking slots left and right. Provision flowed in ways we hadn't seen before—what we jokingly call those "ka-ching" moments of blessing. Mili is absolutely thriving in her gift of hospitality, welcoming creators and helping them share powerful Kingdom messages. Our kids are growing in it too—Joseph is now leading a youth worship band that practices in the original studio space. Full-circle legacy!
Through it all, we've learned this truth deeper than ever: Obedience plus perseverance equals open heavens. A victim mentality blocks what God wants to do, but gratitude and that "one more step" faith? They unlock miracles. Sometimes you're in the thick of the struggle—keep going. The click, the healing, the breakthrough might be in the very next moment of surrender.
