The Vision Behind Hope LA
In our recent podcast episode, I sat down with Samuel Tejada, leader of Sons of Thunder. He shared the heart of this movement:
“Hope is the initiative of uniting the body of Christ regardless of denomination, regardless of race and regardless of color. We believe that the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the glory of the former house.”
Unity among pastors and churches in Southern California is already sparking something powerful — souls are being saved and people are being healed.
Samuel Tejada’s Powerful Testimony
Samuel’s life is a miracle. In 2010, while lost in addiction and living on the streets, doctors gave him only 30 to 90 days to live. God completely turned his life around through rehab and divine healing.
In 2018, the Lord called him to work with youth. In 2022, after helping Miel San Marcos at the Crypto.com Arena, Sons of Thunder was born. Today, Samuel leads a choir of over 150 worship leaders from every nationality and denomination across Southern California.
What makes Sons of Thunder special is their focus on excellence and purity of heart. Auditions check not only voices but also character and motives. Samuel is very clear: “If you’re here for clout, it’s better you walk out the door yourself.”
Their rehearsals are strict on professionalism and discipline, but they are also soaked in the tangible presence and glory of God.
During our interview, the conversation turned into spontaneous worship. Samuel, a trained opera singer and choir director, led a powerful a cappella moment that moved everyone to tears.A Bold Dare to Try GodSamuel ended with this challenge:
“I dare you to try God. You’ve tried doctors. You’ve tried medicine. You’ve tried everything else. I dare you to try God. And I promise you, you won’t regret it.”
